Day 1
Itinerary:
Arrival in New Zealand. Pick-up a vehicle. Driving to a hotel. Have a rest.
Day 2
Itinerary:
Private Guided Auckland City Tour, 6 hours. During the tour you will try SkyWalk around Auckland Sky Tower. No handrail, nothing but thin air and the city 192 metres below.
Day 3
Itinerary:
06:40 – 09:40 Driving to Waitomo.
10:00 – 14:00 You may take the original tour to the Lost World or a lighter option Lost World Through the Window.
14:00 – 15:00 Lunch at a local cafe.
15:00 – 16:30 Driving to Hobbiton.
16:30 – 18:30 Tour to Hobbiton ex Shire's Rest Cafe. Explore Bag End, where Bilbo & Frodo’s adventures began, get lost amongst all the Hobbit holes and visit the Mill and the fabulous Party Tree.
18:30 – 20:00 Driving to Rotorua, check-in a hotel.
20:30 – 22:00 Dinner at CBK restaurant where you can grill your own steak on a hot stone.
Day 4
Itinerary:
08:00 – 08:40 Driving to Kaituna river.
08:40 – 09:00 Check-in the tour.
09:00 – 12:00 Rotorua Rafting: Kaituna River. You will raft down this grade 5 river.
12:00 – 12:30 Shower and changing.
12:30 – 13:00 Driving to Skyline Rotorua.
13:00 – 14:00 Buffet lunch at Stratosphere restaurant.
14:00 - 16:30 Skyline Half Day Adventure Pass: Gondola ride + 5 luge rides + Skyswing + Zipline. you may have a lunch at a cafe at Skyline complex.
16:30 - 17:30 Visit the Rainbow Springs park where you'll encounter lots of New Zealand endemics including a kiwi bird.
17:30 - 18:00 Make your way to Mitai Maori Village which is a neighbour of Rainbow Springs. Check-in the tour.
18:00 – 21:00 Mitai Maori Village Experience. Familiarize yourself with Maori culture, try local cuisine and watch famous haka dance.
Day 5
Rotorua - White Island - Huka Falls - Taupo
Itinerary:
08:30 – 09:00 Driving to
09:00 – 12:00 White Island/ Mount Tarawera by Helicopter. Rising gently up from beside the lake, you’ll set off to land on both New Zealand’s only permanently active offshore volcano & the site of the largest eruption in New Zealand’s living memory, Mount Tarawera.
12:00 – 13:30 Driving to Huka Prawns Park.
13:30 – 14:30 Lunch at the restaurant of Huka Prawns Park.
14:30 – 15:00 Huka Falls Jet Ride. Travelling an incredible 80Km/ph low on the water, skimming past cliffs and trees, powering along a beautiful river environment before gripping on during the trademark 360-degree spin is an adrenaline-pumping experience you’ll never forget!
15:00 – 15:20 Driving to Taupo.
15:20 – 16:30 Solo Taupo Bungy Jump 47m or Tandem Taupo Bungy Jump or Bungy & Swing Combo.
16:30 – 17:00 Driving to Wairakei Terraces.
17:00 – 18:00 Reward yourself in the Mineral and Silica Enriched Thermal Pools at Wairakei Terraces.
Day 6
Itinerary:
Today you will make the whole or just a part of Tongariro Crossing which leads to fantastic mountain lakes. This world-famous trail requires a good level of fitness. Hiking here is strongly weather dependent.
In the afternoon drive to the capital of New Zealand (325 km).
Day 7
Itinerary:
In the morning we advise to do a self-guided tour around the city centre: Parliament (Beehive), Cable car Wellington, Botanic Gardens, Te Papa Tongarewa, Mt Victoria.
13:30 - 16:00 There and Back Again: Weta Cave Workshop Tour. Visit the legendary film studio Weta Cave! Get up close to the props, weapons and costumes created for The Lord of the Rings, Power Ranges, The Great Wall, Avatar, District 9, and more.
Day 8
Wellington - Cook Strait - Picton - Nelson
Itinerary:
Choose your ferry ticket on the web-site of Interislander or Blue Bridge. Crossing the strait will take you about 3 hours. After arrival to Picton, we advise you to make your way to Omaka where you can visit the aviation museum. Local expositions dedicated to the 1st and the 2nd World Wars are made by Weta Cave's craftsmen. It's really amazing! If you have extra 250 NZD you may take a ride on a vintage biplane.
Lunch is better to take at the restaurant of Hanz Herzog Estate where you can taste Marlborough wines. It will take you 1.5 hours to reach Nelson from this place.
Day 9
Itinerary:
08:30 - 16:30 Abel Tasman Kayaking: Kayak & Pitt Head Nature Loop.
Day 10
Nelson - Charleston - Westport
Itinerary:
09:00 – 13:00 Driving to tiny town Charleston on West Coast of the island (235 km). Charleston was the largest New Zealand city during the gold rush. Nowadays there are 6 dwellers only live here.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch at a local cafe. Check-in the tour.
14:00 – 18:00 Underworld Rafting with Glowworms. This is an award-winning adventure, taking you to a place hidden in the dark nestled in a breathtaking rugged rainforest landscape. An adventure which should not to be missed!
It's better to find accommodation in Westport town located in 30 minutes drive from Charleston.
Day 11
Westport - Punakaiki - Shantytown - Greymouth - Fox Glacier
Itinerary:
09:00 – 10:00 Driving to Paparoa National Park where Punakaiki pancake rocks are located (56 km).
10:00 – 11:00 Walking around Punakaiki park (free entry).
11:00 – 12:00 Driving to Shantytown located near Greymouth (56 km).
12:00 – 14:00 Shantytown Experience with Gold Panning.
14:00 – 15:00 Lunch at a local cafe in Greymouth.
15:00 – 19:00 Driving to the village near Fox Glacier (240 km).
Day 12
Itinerary:
If you are an early bird we recommend you to meet the sunrise near the mirror lake Matheson. You will be rewarded by terrific scenery of sunrise reflection in the waters of the forest lake.
08:50 – 12:50 Fox Glacier Heli Hike. Finding the most spectacular ice formations, you’ll make your way through an extraordinary land of towering & glistening blue ice.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch at a cafe in Fox village.
14:00 – 18:00 Driving to Wanaka (262 km). The road is very beautiful with lots of waterfalls and fantastic mountain and lake views.
18:00 – 19:00 U-FLY Aerobatics with a unique opportunity to pilot a plane!
19:00 – 20:00 Driving to Queenstown (68 km).
Day 13
Itinerary:
08:15 – 12:15 Gold Heritage 4WD: Skippers Canyon. Skippers Canyon Road is the steepest road in New Zealand!
13:00 – 15:00 Shotover Canyon Fox & Swing is a stunning experience.
15:00 – 18:00 Self-guided tour around Queenstown and Otago region wineries.
18:20 – 21:00 TSS Earnslaw Cruise & Walter Peak Gourmet BBQ Dinner.
Day 14
Itinerary:
10:00 – 14:00 Milford Sound Fly/Scenic Cruise/Fly. Experience one of the most beautiful places in the world within the tour by plane to Milford Sound connecting to a Scenic Cruise of the fiord.
16:50 – 18:40 Flying to Auckland.
