Amadeus Lake

Lake Amadeus is the largest salt lake in Australia's Northern Territory, covering an area of 1800 square kilometers. It holds 600 million tons of salt, which, like ice, covers the surface of the lake with a thick crust. During the rainy season, the lake becomes part of a drainage system connected to the Finke River. Amadeus is located 50 km from Uluru, and the easiest way to see the lake is to take a helicopter tour from Ayers Rock.
