Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are located on the border of Sydney and extend westward for approximately 50 kilometers. They are named for the local air, which is saturated with the vapors of essential oils released by the many eucalyptus trees that grow there.

The Blue Mountains are part of the Great Dividing Range. Their height reaches 1360 meters above sea level. The namesake national park, located in the western part of the Blue Mountains, is visited by over 3 million tourists from around the world each year. They are drawn here by the miraculous air and the amazing nature of Australia.

The Jenolan Caves are located within the Blue Mountains National Park, as well as the steepest cable car in the world (with a 52-degree angle of descent). The territory of the so-called Greater Blue Mountains Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
