Kakadu National Park

Kakadu National Park is the largest national park in Australia, located near Darwin. Its natural boundary is the steep cliffs of Arnhem Land, with heights ranging from 100 to 200 meters, which cross the eastern part of the park for 500 km. The main inhabitants of the park are crocodiles. Both freshwater and saltwater species are found here. Also, there are buffaloes, wild boars, monitor lizards, and venomous snakes. The park is home to 275 species of birds, 75 species of reptiles, 25 species of frogs, and about 10 thousand insects.

The landscapes of the park change depending on the season. During the rainy season, brackish swamps appear, and during the dry season, only small reservoirs covered with lilies and pink lotus flowers remain. It is at this time - from July to August - that it is best to visit Kakadu Park. In any case, we do not recommend that you walk in the park alone, but only accompanied by a local guide.
