Seals, koalas, sea lions and seals, penguins, possums, herons, pink pelicans, dolphins and, of course, kangaroos - the fauna of the third largest Australian island will conquer you with its diversity and friendliness of its inhabitants. The wrecks of sunken ships, which can be explored while scuba diving, as well as the diaries of the lighthouse keepers of Cape Borda will tell you the turbulent history of local shipwrecks. For gourmets, we recommend visiting the wine cellars of the largest winery on Cape Willoughby, eating oysters in Penneshaw, and then heading to the farms in MacGillivray and Kingscote, where you will be treated to sheep's milk cheese and delicious Ligurian honey. Secluded beaches, quiet country roads, picturesque towns, national parks, caves, lobster and lavender farms, wildlife, the history of the Aborigines and the first settlers - all this awaits you on Kangaroo Island.
