Guided National Kiwi Hatchery Tour, Rotorua
As the iconic & unique native bird, the Kiwi is vital to New Zealand’s culture and identity. Guided National Kiwi Hatchery Tour is run by the National Kiwi Trust, established to provide sustainability & funds for growth to the development of the Save the Kiwi program. All admission fees go directly to the program. In the tour, you can see the hatchery & nursery where young chicks are nurtured before being released into the wild. Since becoming involved in 1995, the 1,500th kiwi chick has now hatched, a significant achievement in nursing an endangered species.
