Huka Falls Jet Ride, Taupo
Travelling an incredible 80Km/ph low on the water, skimming past cliffs and trees, powering along a beautiful river environment before gripping on during the trademark 360 degree spin is an adrenaline-pumping experience you’ll never forget! And this is before you even reach the spectacular Huka Falls, New Zealand’s most visited natural attraction. The water drops from a cliff 11 metres high and the flow fluctuates between 32 and 270 cubic metres per second (160 on average). You’ll get to see the unique blue colour of the water at the base of the falls up close which is created by the clear water reflecting the blue light & intensified by the air bubbles. Huka means “foam” in Maori. You have to be at least one metre tall to ride the jet & don’t carry anything loose like bags. Life jackets (and spray jackets if appropriate) are provided, but in winter bring warm clothing & sunblock in summer. Cameras are permitted but you need to be able to body mount them as you have to have two hands to hold on with!
